Bank access is the most under-published useful fact about a ramp. Where a shoreline is otherwise private, the agency parcel around a public ramp is frequently the only legal standing room for a mile — and that is exactly the situation in which the field is not recorded.
Reading it honestly
- Two agencies in our sources publish "Unknown" as a value. We drop it, so a blank on our page can mean either "no field" or "field says unknown". Neither means "no bank fishing".
- Fishing from the ramp lane itself is prohibited at most sites even where bank fishing is allowed nearby. The lane is a road.
- A general "fishing: yes" flag usually describes the water, not the shoreline — it tells you fishing is permitted, not that there is anywhere to stand.
- State licence requirements apply on the bank exactly as on the water, and are set by the fisheries agency rather than the ramp operator.
